Sports & activities
There’s regular horse-racing at Bangor-on-Dee. Football at Wrexham FC. Golf just about everywhere. Coed Llandegla Forest is a great place for mountain biking – with trails to suit every level. After you’ve worked up an appetite, pitch-up at the eco-friendly visitor centre and café, renowned for its award-winning fare. Or come off-road driving in the Wrexham countryside. Hammering a 4x4 or quad bike is guaranteed to blow the cobwebs away. Get up on a pony and take a canter along our beautiful trails. Or hitch your canal boat to a horse and sail across an aqueduct. You’ll never be short of things to do here. More detailed information is available in What to see and do.
Thrills and spills
If water’s your thing, there are thrills and spills waiting on the River Dee for canoeists. We’ve also got indoor karting and ice-skating in Deeside, clay-pigeon shooting and lots of other things for adventurous visitors!
